Elizabeth Keune has always had a passion for performing arts and, even more importantly, for the students who bring them to life. A graduate of Odessa High School, Elizabeth continued her education at Metropolitan Community College and has spent her career building meaningful connections with students through education, color guard, and winter guard.

Over the years, Elizabeth has had the opportunity to work with students and programs at Odessa High School, Raymore-Peculiar High School, Lee’s Summit West High School, and Summit Lakes Middle School. She has also been fortunate to be part of the independent winter guard community through Syncronicity Independent Winter Guard, Panache Independent Winter Guard, Smithton Indoor Color Guard, and spun for the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps in the summer of 2003. Each experience has helped shape her approach to teaching and strengthened her belief that guard is about so much more than performance—it is about confidence, friendship, perseverance, and finding a place where you belong.

Elizabeth is currently the Director of Guards at Blue Springs South High School. She also enjoys working with the district’s younger performers at Delta Woods Middle School and Moreland Ridge Middle School, helping students discover their love for guard and encouraging them as they grow into confident performers and young adults. 

Outside of the gym and rehearsal field, Elizabeth is a wife and mom. She and her husband, Todd, live in Independence, Missouri, with their son, Oliver, who attends school in the Blue Springs School District. Her family, her students, and the guard community are all incredibly important parts of her life.
