Communication

There are several channels of communication band staff will use to share important updates and information with parents and families.

Often times, students will receive information directly from staff in class. Please help us in playing in active role in communicating with your student and asking them to share.

  • Please download and join the BAND app for our most immediate updates on competition days and throughout the school year.

    The BAND app allows for communication between all members of a group, including staff, parents, and students. We utilize two different channels on the app:

    1. Staff Communication channel: This is the main channel used by Blue Springs South High School Bands. This only allows for communication directly from directors and staff, but everyone can see these updates. All parents and students should join this chat.

    2. Parent Chat: Here, comments are not limited to band staff. Parents can communicate with each other and ask questions.

    BAND App Etiquette:

    • When possible, direct questions to appropriate parties instead of to the entire group

    • On competition and show days, please do not contact the band and guard directors with questions, as they will be preoccupied with providing your students the best possible experience. Please direct questions to other parents or administrative staff.
