Jade Brazzel currently serves as assistant band director and woodwind specialist at Moreland Ridge Middle School. She assists with the Jaguars Pride Marching Band working with the flute section and drum majors. She has been teaching band in Missouri public schools for 3 years. She has taught in Belton, Cleveland, and Kansas City Public Schools. She credits most of her experience to her time at East High School where she taught beginning band, advanced band, and music appreciation to a mostly underserved ELL population. She directed the drum line and assisted with the spirit squad when the East Bears boys' soccer team won state in 2023. 

She received her Bachelor of Music Education with Instrumental emphasis from the University of Central Missouri, where she was principal oboe in Wind Ensemble and Orchestra. She served as Fraternity Education chair in Sigma Alpha Iota - Epsilon Omega, vice president NAfME, librarian of ASTA, and a member of the Black Student Union. She was also a member of the Marching Mules and eventually Drum Major. Her love of marching band comes from both Corps style and HBCU style of marching shows. 

Her primary instruments are oboe and English Horn and secondary is the flute. She currently gives oboe lessons to students within the KC Metro. When she's not giving lessons, she is performing either with Northwinds Symphonic Band, Mid-America Freedom Band, Sounds of South Kansas City Community Band, Warrensburg Community Band, Marshall Symphony Orchestra, or Sedalia Symphony Orchestra. She has performed on the state level at both MMEA and MBA conferences collegiately and professionally as well as in Europe. 

Jade is not originally from the Midwest, but from North Carolina. She grew up military and has lived in and traveled to various countries including Japan and Germany. She graduated from Waynesville High School in South-Central Missouri and moved to Lee’s Summit in 2019. When she has free time, she enjoys spending it with her puppy, family, and friends. She loves board games, Nintendo games, karaoke, and Westcoast swing dance!
